OK, OK……..I've been seeing so much advertising about this FitFlop, the flip-flops that give your legs and butt a work-out while you walk. Supposedly they are constructed in a way that "challenges the support and balance muscles of the foot and leg" – according to its manufacturer – which stimulates a response in your calf, [...]

OK, OK……..I've been seeing so much advertising about this FitFlop, the flip-flops that give your legs and butt a work-out while you walk. Supposedly they are constructed in a way that "challenges the support and balance muscles of the foot and leg" – according to its manufacturer – which stimulates a response in your calf, hamstring, thigh and gluteal (butt) muscles.

My question is, "If you tend to be clumsy or happen to walk into treacherous territory, can they be dangerous to wear?" Also, what is the recommended amount of time you should wear them? I've heard that some women are making this their primary shoe of choice when not working. Flip-flops are generally not the best shoe to wear all the time, due to their lack of support, so I'm not sure that would be the best choice. Besides, how much of a workout can your legs take? It sounds like you would have to pace yourself as far as the amount of time you wear them. My legs would be screaming if I bought them and kept them on all day the first go 'round!

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has tried FitFlops…..before I take the plunge.
